Is it possible to still sell Fortis/FortisBlue once the April 2016 version of DocuWare which is intended for Fortis/FortisBlue customers is released? No, this DocuWare release officially replaces Fortis/FortisBlue. However, you can still sell extension licenses through the December 31, 2018.
How long with Fortis/FortisBlue be supported? Through the end of 2018.
Can we still sell Fortis and FortisBlue after support drops? No.
Do I need to be a certified DocuWare Partner before I can upgrade my customers to DocuWare? Yes, you need to sign a DocuWare ADP agreement and officially become a DocuWare Partner. This will open access to all DocuWare training. Training is free – and we will waive the initial annual Partner fee of $2,600 for the first year.
How will the percentage I receive on maintenance contracts be affected? The maintenance levels are tied to net new sales and are at 40 percent fixed for this year. For 2016, the discount is determined by your combined Fortis, FB and DocuWare new and extension sales and the Partner category you reach through those.
Will there be tools/guidance to help me determine the scope and how to price the upgrade for my customers? There will be tools that transfer the basic configurations of the system, documents, databases, index fields, and searches to DocuWare. Workflows, forms, and security have to be reconfigured. The scope of upgrading a customer is dependent on the business processes of that customer and what their implementation entails. You will develop a better understanding of this process after completing DocuWare training. We will create a DocuWare configuration match card that lists all Fortis products and tells you what the corresponding Docuware modules are. We are also planning to develop a software tool that allows Partner and customers to adjust the number of licenses and the corresponding modules up or down. You should be able to stay in the plus/minus 10% range to keep costs about the same.
How will I know when to migrate my customers to DocuWare? Determining when your customers can migrate to DocuWare will be done on a case-by-case basis. Our Professional Service team is more than happy to assist you with your individual customers.
